MORTONS KITCHEN, BAR & DELI

own imagery
Yesterday, I had lunch at my favourite place ever, Mortons Kitchen with my wonderful boyfriend Alex. He's heading off to Holland to photograph M.I.V.W (a European car show) with some friends so this was our little goodbye lunch. We hardly ever spend time apart now I'm home from Uni and it will be really strange without him! We only came across this great bar and deli last year and since then it's been one of our favourite places to eat. Mortons Kitchen is in the Dickens Heath area of Solihull, Birmingham and offers excellent service, a great atmosphere and a delicious menu! To start we shared our all time favourite nachos and both had a pizza for our main course (as it was 241!) While Alex went for his traditional mozzarella and tomato, I was slightly more daring with wood fired courgettes, pine nuts, corn and red pepper toppings. It was unbelievably good and something i'd love to try at home. (Watch this space...)

SUNSHINE IN STRATFORD

own imagery
Aren't you just absolutely loving the gorgeous weather we've been experiencing lately? This could possibly be one of the nicest Summers we've had in years! Me and my boyfriend decided to make the most of the beautiful weather and pay a visit to tourist hotspot, Stratford Upon Avon (birthplace of William Shakespeare) for a spot of shopping, smoothies and sunshine! If you've never been, Stratford is a quaint market town in the Warwickshire area that boasts stunning traditional architecture in an idyllic riverside setting. We spent our afternoon wandering around the shops (although nothing really caught my eye), sipping passionfruit and mango smoothies and relaxing under an oak tree by the River Avon. To keep cool I wore a simple black strappy dress with my favourite long kimono (from primark) with what I believe to be the comfiest sandals ever created (again from primark). I love nothing more than being outdoors with my favourite people and experiencing beautiful places during Summer!

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST

Wednesday's here again and here are my current fave high street picks! I recently had a huge clear out of my wardrobe and realised that I am utterly unprepared for the Autumn season. I need to inject some much loved nudes, blacks and my all time favourite... burgundy into my life! Barely there makeup teamed with a statement berry lip would set this look off perfectly!

SUMMER NIGHTS

So Summer's here and hopefully here to stay! Hope you've all been making the most of the glorious weather and getting the most out of those short shorts! I've been spending some quality time with my boyfriend (of nearly six years) Alex lately while 'school's out for summer!', thankfully the UK weather hasn't disappointed! Yesterday we spent the day in Stratford Upon Avon (birthplace of William Shakespeare) and soaked up the sun after a wedding suit fitting, on the river bank.
As the sun began to set we returned to his lovely home and spent the evening being big kids on the family trampoline (for those that don't know... I'm 20 and he's 22 - we have no shame). I then prepared us tomato and rosemary baked cod with a simple salad and we dined al-fresco in the early evening warmth. It was a simply perfect day/night...

BEAUTIFUL BEDROOMS

I'll let you in to a little secret, I'm wildly passionate about interior design and find Scandinavian style design immensely inspirational. The minimalism, functionality and simplistic style is the reason that I could quite easily gather all my belongings and live in IKEA. We're thinking of moving home soon and the thought of having the opportunity to rethink my bedroom layout/design and splash out on beautiful new items makes my heart skip a beat. You may think I'm being dramatic but in the upcoming months before the move I can guarantee that my life will become chaos with lists, mood boards and catalogues cluttering my room.

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST

Now i've broken up from university for the Summer, I seem to be spending the majority of my time 'online window shopping'. There are some lovely pieces around at the moment and here are six of my faves. I'm getting into the high summer spirit with tropical tones of lemon and coral teamed with white. Nothing says summer like a pair of bright white sandals!I really love Olivia Burton watches and as my birthday is soon approaching i'm dropping hints to all my nearest and dearest!

What are you currently wishing for?

OH, I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASIDE...

Recently me and my wonderful boyfriend (of nearly six years), Alex, spent five days in what I now consider to be one of the most beautiful locations in the UK - Cornwall. This was our first holiday/road trip with just the two of us on home soil. We usually travel to luxurious hotels in Egypt or holiday with his family but since passing his driving test we decided it would be nice to spend some time just the two of us. A break was exactly what with both needed, with myself being stuck in a dead end job about to go into my third and final year of stressful studying at university and Alex landing the job of a lifetime as a photographer this sea air did us the world of good. It's the first time we'd both been to Cornwall since our childhoods and we immediately fell in love with the place. We stayed at the Newquay Parkdean holiday park and were given a gorgeous luxury lodge to spend our holiday in. The views from the park were stunning but that didn't stop us from exploring all that Cornwall has to offer. We visited St. Ives, Tintagel, Penzance, Lands End, Marizion and St. Michael's Mount. I urge anyone who hasn't been to add St. Ives and St. Michael's Mount to their 'places to visit' list, we have already promised ourselves that one day we will move to stunning St. Ives and eat cornish ice-cream for breakfast.
